This tutorial will describe how to remove either a previously installed layout that is being particularly stubborn or how to remove imported layout settings when converting from a MySpace 1.0 Layout to a MySpace 2.0 Layout. Please feel free to contact me if you have any more questions and concerns after reading this tutorial.
Assessing The Situation
Generally speaking when you convert to 2.0 after having had a 1.0 layout of some sort, MySpace will automatically import previous parts of the older layout to your new profile. It can be background images, colors, text colors, etc. In this case when I converted to 2.0 you can see some of the old background image as the image below shows:

Let's Clear it out!
- Start by going to Profile > Customize Profile
- Locate the {} CSS block and click on it. You will get something like the image below:

- Click "Clear CSS, it will remove all the previous CSS imported attributes. Please note, it is highly recommended that you save a copy of the old CSS before clearing it in case there is anything you would like to add back later.

- Next, go to Advanced Edit.

- Select Background and click Reset Styles. Continue to Reset Styles for: Content, Modules, Module Headers, and Modules.

- Lastly, click Preview, if you are satisfied, click Publish. And there you go! You've just cleared up your previous layout, now you can install a fresh layout of your choice.
