This tutorial will instruct you on how to install a 1.0 MySpace Default Layout cleanly. This tutorial should be used by those who have not yet converted their profile into 2.0 before or those who have converted back to 1.0 already. Please note it is highly recommended that you save a copy of your previous layout before installing another in case there is a problem with your new layout. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding how to install a 1.0 MySpace Default layout if you are still confused after reading this tutorial.

Assessing The Situation

So a 2.0 MySpace Profile just isn't your thing? Try installing a 1.0 instead to jazz up your personal profile. Please note, when editing a 1.0 layout you do not want to use the "Customize Profile" option. When installing a 1.0 you should use the edit profile option.

Let's Get Installin!

  1. As always, first things first, go log into your MySpace.
  2. Click on Edit Profile

  3. Next, Locate the following tags: . Anything between those two tags is previous CSS that styles the profile. This is assuming you had a previous profile installed. If it cannot be located in the About Me Section, I would go through the other sections just to make sure there are no codes. Conflicting CSS codes can cause your new layout to not show up at all or show up funny looking.

  5. Select everything in between and including the style tags. Right Click over the selected text and select cut.
