Homecoming Help: 5 Things You Shouldn't Leave Without

I know it's been a while since I've written a blog for all of you, but I've been trying to find something more... enjoyable to write about along with the regular kinds of information I like to share. Today's blog will be focusing on tips for homecomings.

Yes, you're concerned with how you look and what you're going to wear and all that. But what about the last minute stuff? Below you'll find a few things I never leave my home without when I'm going to meet my husband. Got some suggestions to add? Feel free to log in and include yours!

  1. Waterproof Mascara. Yes, the invention of waterproof makeup! Use it in place of your regular mascara to ensure your homecoming pictures will not have an image of your tear and mascara streaked face.
  2. A Pair of Flats. Since there's no definite telling of how long you'll have to wait for your significant other to arrive. So if you're wearing a great pair of heels be sure to bring along a pair of flats. You can slip your heels on right before he arrives and your feet will thank you!
  3. Touch up Makeup and a Small Mirror. Sometimes I need it, sometimes I don't. But it's always handy to have some touch up make up just in case you cry some of it off in anticipation. Travel sized perfume is always helpful too.
  4. Breath Mints. Yup always helpful just to ensure that first kiss will be nice and minty.
  5. Camera and phone. To record the homecoming festivities and of course ensure that you can be contacted if anything important comes up.

I'll add more to this list as they come to me. Feel free to add yours!

Other Things Too :)

Everything that was listed above as needed is SO, SO true! Oh, and also, remember to bring more than one camera. If you're like me and you love taking LOTS of pictures, bring an extra camera and/or batteries. Thank God I had this last year for our second homecoming!

Also, you can't forget the most important thing: welcome home signs!
For the past two homecomings, I have made little signs to hold along with a large sign out of butcher paper with a cute saying which I would tape on the outside of the tailgate of his truck. My last one said, "Don't pull me over for speeding! My heart is home from Iraq!"
So, little things like that are cute!
This blog is great! :)
